Every once in awhile, I have a shoot that allows me to be a full-on tourist with my clients, soaking in the city and all its splendor and seeing it in a magical new way. Karin and Ichiro's anniversary session was just that!
Recent transplants to NY from Japan, they moved here after getting married and wanted to take anniversary photos in some of the most iconic spots of their new home. Sunrise on the Brooklyn Bridge was top of list, and we brainstormed together to come up with their final two locations: South Street Seaport and Central Park.
I love helping clients pick locations that feel like 'them' and tell their story, and with Karin and Ichiro - it was effortless! They came to me with image inspiration and together we collaborated on the look for each setting. They prepared with props and dressed to the nines in their wedding attire (and walking sneakers for Karin because as I tell my couples, NYC is too much to handle all in heels!).
These two are pure pros - smiling through a three hour session that culminated in an epic confetti and champagne pop - and a toast with the latter for all three of us! And best of all, we left the session as newly minted friends - discussing the restaurants we planned to try together for brunch and dinner in the new year. It was a dream session and I'm so grateful they found me. I truly have the most amazing job.
