Back in 2020, I got in touch with WGirls, an organization dedicated to empowering women and children in underserved communities. Among the many amazing things they do is Project G.L.A.M., a day dedicated to providing teens in NYC with the opportunity to pick out their prom outfit, makeup and accessories - all for free. Dresses, suits and more are donated by a number of designers and brands and the kids can choose anything they like! It's truly an amazing opportunity and so full of joy.

But as fate would have it, shortly after I connected with WGirls the pandemic began and the event was canceled. Having hoped to photograph the day, I was bummed for the kids who wouldn't be able to go to prom or finish their senior year of high school in person.

Two years later and I was scrolling IG when I noticed a social network I'd recently joined (NYC Brunch Squad) had partnered with WGirls to add volunteers to their prom event. Could it be?! I seized the chance to reach out and was put back in touch with Sarah and her team. A few short weeks later I was photographing this beautiful day. Hundreds of teens came to the Bronx to pick out their outfits and snap a few photos in all their glory. It was just a joy to witness and a day I'll never forget. Until next year...
